She smiled to herself as he praised the team - Well done, Guv. - and put a hand to her mouth to silence the laughter that bubbled up as the young uniformed WPC quietly sidled up to Gene and said something Alex couldn't hear, but jerked her head in the direction of the office. Probably a heads' up that 'the woman from D&C' was in his office.
